Redevelopment of London Luton Airport involving a combination of new-build, extension and refurbishment works.
Works included the construction of a new pier and link building, two-storey extension to the existing terminal building, extension to existing boarding and arrival gates, reconfiguration of the international and domestic baggage halls, and the refurbishment of the International Departure Lounge.
Both landside and airside works progressed within a live airport which remained fully operational throughout the contract.
The site undertook various activities, led by our CCS Ambassador, to impact positively on the area and the surrounding community. Activities included the donation of five bird tables to local Bushmead Primary School, made by apprentices in our specialist joinery workshop. As well as, the provision of work experience to local young people, through the Prince’s Trust initiative, including on-site training. Our ‘Get on Board’ Health & Wellbeing Roadshow Bus also visited the site, providing free occupational health checks, free fruit and water bottles and provision of advice and information leaflets.
