Date Posted 10.03.26

McLaughlin & Harvey have been awarded a place on Translink’s FW122 Permanent Way Major Projects Framework.

The framework, initially agreed for 5 years, will support the delivery of Translink’s programme of capital and maintenance works.

McLaughlin & Harvey has had a long-standing relationship with the public transport firm. The civil engineering company currently delivers maintenance and infrastructure projects across multiple frameworks for Translink.

Adrian Pollock, Operations Director at McLaughlin & Harvey, said:

“We are pleased to be awarded a place on FW122. The framework provides us with an opportunity to continue our collaboration with Translink, delivering civil engineering projects across Northern Ireland.”

The Framework covers the delivery of permanent way work packages across a broad range of project sizes and complexities. This includes everything from small, single-site renewals and refurbishments to major (£20m+) multi-disciplinary design and construction projects, potentially involving disruptive blockades or possessions.

Typical scope areas include:

  • Plain line and switch & crossing (S&C) renewals and refurbishments
  • Level and user-worked crossing renewals
  • Re-railing, rail milling, ballast, and drainage works
  • Works at sidings and depots
  • Rail system enhancements such as new track assets, dualling, passing loops, siding extensions, line speed improvements, and realignments
  • Network electrification works, including testing rigs, minor depot works, and advice on enabling works and buildability
