Omagh Hospital & Primary Care Complex

Omagh Hospital & Primary Care Complex is the first of its kind in the UK, bringing together a range of primary, secondary and community healthcare services.

The new build high-quality, modern hospital was constructed on a brownfield site within the grounds of the existing live Tyrone and Fermanagh Hospital.

The new 2-storey complex provides a range of services, including an Urgent Care Department, Day Procedure Unit, Imaging Department, Clinical Investigations and Testing Centre, Renal Centre, four GP practices, 40 bed ensuite ward, Children’s Services, Support Services, Operating Theatres, Endoscopy Unit, Women’s Health Unit, Cardiac Assessment Unit, consultant rooms and offices, treatment rooms, therapy rooms, and a Children’s Department.

Our Frameworks division also supplied the curtain walling, structural glass assemblies, windows, doors, rain screen cladding, brise soleil, sliding doors, auto doors, roof lights, internal screens with built-in blinds, and internal fire-rated screens with built-in blinds.

Feature of ProjectLive Site

This was a live site within the grounds of operational Tyrone and Fermanagh Hospital, which provides acute mental health inpatient services. Therefore, the continuity of services was critical to ensure the adjacent functions of the existing hospital continue with minimal disruption for staff and patients. Preventing access to site by vulnerable people was also critical, therefore special measures were taken to combat the risk.

Community EngagementConsiderate Constructor’s Scheme

The site undertook various activities, led by our CCS Ambassador, to impact positively on the area and the surrounding community. Activities included the donation of construction toys and a bird table made from site timber off-cuts to the Tyrone County Hospital Children's Department, the facilitation of a Stroke Awareness Day on-site including an Occupational Nurse visit to offer free health checks, and a Mental Health Awareness Workshop carried out with site staff. As well as, a food donation to the local St Vincent De Paul, and sponsorship of the Trust’s Annual Staff Awards.
