Construction and refurbishment of units at The Moor Sheffield.

Design & build project involving the demolition of an existing unit and the construction of a 39,000 sqft MSU unit for the new tenant, H&M, along with the refurbishment of 68,000 sqft of existing units.

Section 1 works, units 15 to 19 and 26, included the soft strip-out and internal demolition of existing units, the construction of new shop fronts, as well as roof refurbishment works including the demolition of the existing rooftop enclosure.

Section 2 works, units 7 and 9, involved the construction of a new retaining wall at the basement level, the installation of new stairs, as well as joinery works.

Finally, section 3 works included the demolition of the existing building and construction of the new MSU unit including the formation of a new loading bay.

The existing shopping centre remained live throughout our works, therefore maintaining trade and business continuity was crucial.

The site was nestled within a live retail environment surrounded by busy roads, i.e. Furnival Gate, Matilda Way and Matilda Street. We efficiently managed all construction-related traffic via a comprehensive Traffic Management Plan which was developed during the mobilisation phase.
