Our partnership with Breakthrough Properties
McLaughlin & Harvey has vast experience in the rapidly changing life sciences sector, having delivered more than 550,000 sq ft of laboratory construction across the UK’s Golden Triangle – the geographic cluster for life sciences spanning Oxford, Cambridge, London and England’s wider southeast.
McLaughlin & Harvey has been working with life sciences real estate investment company Breakthrough Properties since 2023 and has delivered two projects during that time; Trinity, located at the gateway to Oxford Business Park, and Vitrum, situated within St John’s Innovation Park.

World-leading scientific solutions
The Crop Innovation Centre (CIC) at The James Hutton Institute is now home to two major innovation centres: the Advanced Plant Growth Centre (APGC) and the International Barley Hub (IBH).
Both innovation centres were funded as part of a £62 million investment through the Tay Cities Region Deal by the UK and Scottish Governments, which also facilitated the construction of the Mylnefield Farm building and the IBH Field Centre on The James Hutton Institute’s Invergowrie campus.
