We work in strategic defence procurement partnerships with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) on MOD contracts, including the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and all branches of the UK Armed Forces, as well as private defence contractors and their supply chains, to deliver projects in high-security and live operational environments. Recent projects have included a shipbuilding facility, aircraft hangar construction, a military building and an armoury building.
Whether it is supporting a complex, multi-decade defence programme at the national level or an intricate, fast-track refurbishment, we have a track record of delivering effective services and infrastructure for the defence sector, aligned to the priorities in the UK Government’s Defence Industrial Strategy. Enhancing the UK’s Defence Readiness and Resilience
The UK Armed Forces are now better equipped to face ever-evolving global security threats, as McLaughlin & Harvey has completed the Ministry of Defence’s (MOD) new state-of-the-art military storage building at Longtown in Cumbria.
Known as the Longtown Defence Storage Facility (LDSF), the £98.5M facility is managed by Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S), the MOD’s procurement arm. It marks a strategic improvement in enhancing the UK’s defence readiness and resilience, whilst streamlining and strengthening supply chain operations and significantly increasing departmental storage.
