Demolition of existing buildings on-site with the retention of a four-storey masonry Victorian façade, and construction of a new steel-framed 156-bed Radisson Blu Hotel.
Serving to enhance Sheffield’s social scene, an upmarket rooftop bar and terrace is also planned for the hotel, affording views over the Peace Gardens.
Works also include the refurbishment of the Gaumont Building, including the façade, while retaining the structural frame. The completed building will provide large-scale leisure space, along with retail units at ground level.

The site is prominent within the centre of the City of Sheffield and located in the City Centre conservation area, facing principal city landmarks such as Sheffield City Hall on Barker’s Pool and Sheffield Town Hall along with the Peace Gardens across Pinstone Street. Our approach involves careful pre-planning and regular reviews of the ongoing impact of our works to maintain a positive image of the site and Council.
