A new insight paper commissioned by McLaughlin & Harvey calls for better early contractor involvement in defence construction if the UK is to meet the defence sector’s rapidly evolving needs.
The D Group produced the paper following an industry roundtable with participants across the MOD and defence construction supply chain. This includes Balfour Beatty, Morgan Sindall, Gleeds, Laing O’Rourke, AECOM, Arcadis and Skanska.

The paper suggests that investment alone is not enough to accelerate defence construction in the UK; instead, changes to procurement and supply chain routes are needed to ensure complex projects are delivered with pace and resilience to meet the rapidly evolving needs of the UK defence sector.
