Vibrant, modern collections and research centre for the V&A.

Redevelopment of the former Olympic Broadcasting studios at Here East, London.

The new 172,222sqft world-class facility provides museum gallery space, flexible exhibition and performance space, workshops and education spaces, WCs, a café and welcome area, collection storage areas, and conditioned collection storage rooms, alongside back-of-house spaces including offices, conservation studios and technical workshops.

State-of-the-art
Redevelopment

The centre will be a purpose-built home for 250,000 objects, 350,000 library books and an additional 1,000 archives from the V&A’s collection of fashion, textiles, furniture, theatre and performance, metalwork, ceramics, glass, sculpture, digital, architecture, paintings and product design.

Visitors will be invited on behind-the-scenes journeys that uncover the V&A’s collection and reveal why objects are collected, how they are cared for, conserved and researched, and how they can help make sense of our past, present and future through a series of displays and public programmes.
