McLaughlin & Harvey has completed the refurbishment of Milngavie Primary School. The Victorian sandstone building, standing since 1875, has benefited from major structural improvements over the last year and re-opened this week for the new academic year.
Passers-by will immediately notice the meticulous cleaning job that has brought the sandstone back to its former glory. Also obvious are the new modern windows throughout. The new roofs will make a huge difference to the fabric of the building and the comfort of everyone inside as well as the internal decoration that has brightened each area up.
This project was delivered via the SCAPE Scotland framework for East Dunbartonshire Council.
“It has been a pleasure to work on another refurbishment project with East Dunbartonshire Council and SCAPE Scotland. Preserving the school’s character during refurbishment works is challenging, but one we have enjoyed and succeeded in doing within the tight timescale.”

“It’s great to see the results of the work that has been done to Milngavie Primary and to see how excited everyone is to be coming back after a year away.
It is a very attractive building which has been significantly improved by the investment that has been made over the last year to replace the roofs and windows, clean up the exterior and redecorate inside.”
