Main construction works for the redevelopment of Alexander Stadium into a high-quality venue for diverse sporting, leisure, community and cultural events.
Works include the construction of a new west stand, as well as construction of the new north and south bowl seating (permanent capacity increased from 12,700 to 18,000).
Additionally, construction and installation of the World Athletics Class 1 facility including a new 400m six lane warm up track and relaying of a new 400m nine lane competition standard track, formation of the practice throwing field, stadium lighting, as well as associated highway and infrastructure works.
