McLaughlin & Harvey successfully collaborated with Cherubini Metal Works and Irving Shipping, Halifax, to deploy and recover the first commercial scale in-stream tidal turbine in the Bay of Fundy, Canada for Nova Scotia Power and Openhydro. The 450 tonne device was lowered within 1 hour to its intended location on the ocean floor by the purpose built barge, OpenHydro Installer using a method devised and developed by McLaughlin & Harvey.
