Design and construction of a 12,000 capacity venue for the 2012 Olympic Basketball Tournament. The building was designed to be a temporary venue and after the games, two thirds of the materials and elements of the arena were reused or recycled, allowing other parts of the UK to benefit from London 2012. The frame utilised lightweight steel with a geotextile external envelope.
“Basketball is one of the most popular Olympic sports and spectators will be able to see the game played out in spectacular surroundings.”
