The extensive upgrade, refurbishment and extension of an existing Grade B listed building.

The works included complete refurbishment of all existing roofs, construction of a new high-level plantroom, introduction of new wet and dry changing facilities, new fitness suites, multi purpose room, gymnasium, health suite and cafe / reception area.

All existing swimming pools and plant areas were completely refurbished including the extensive provision of new building services throughout.

A new three-storey structure was also constructed within the existing former gymnasium building and this presented various engineering challenges which included underpinning, dewatering and mini-piling works all within an existing building.

The very tight site was serviced by adopting the use of a self-erect tower crane. External works to the listed façade included stone repairs, stone cleaning, window refurbishment and extensive lead work.

The building has stunning original features such as Turkish Baths and period finishes, all of which were retained.
