Demolition of the existing Northcott Shopping Centre, and design & build and fit-out of a new Tesco Extra Store with adjoining mall incorporating 4 retail units, petrol filling station and car parking for seven hundred and eighty spaces.
The site was located within a densely populated area, and a section of the site remained operational due to the provision of a temporary Pharmacy building to maintain the store’s Pharmacy license during the existing store closure.
Community EngagementConsiderate Constructor’s Scheme
The site undertook various activities, led by our CCS Ambassador, to impact positively on the area and the surrounding community. Activities included constructing a Biodiversity Garden for local Ballyhenry Primary School, which was designed by the children, as well as a zoo trip and sponsorship of a prairie dog for Ballyhenry Primary School. This chosen animal became the site mascot and a focus for the school on learning about biodiversity.
