St Columba's High School, Gourock

Works involved partial demolition, a new four-storey 32,292sqft extension, construction of an additional floor over the existing three-storey building, and extensive refurbishment to the existing vacant Gourock High School to form the new St Columba’s High School.

The improved campus provides general teaching classrooms, practical learning spaces, social spaces, library, fitness suite, and sports hall.

Community EngagementConsiderate Constructor’s Scheme

The site undertook various activities, led by our CCS Ambassador, to impact positively on the area and the surrounding community. Activities included donating a supply of plywood to one of the local scout leaders who was running a scout camp. The plywood was used as flooring for a marquee at the event, which saw hundreds of scouts from all over Scotland attending. As well as, a community litter pick with volunteers from our site, and employing labour and new entrant trainees / apprentices from the local community.
