Design & build phase 3 redevelopment of the site for use as a modern functioning marine service base.
Works included construction of a 160m long combi-piled anchor wall quay, reclamation of 430,556sqft of land through the importation of 300,000m3 of dredged material, and 550m of rock armour revetment.
All works were completed over and adjacent to the Cromarty Firth, with associated tidal working, with a tidal range of approximately 5m rise and fall. The biggest value added initiative was the importation of dredge material from our adjacent ongoing Nigg South Quay Dredging Campaign for use as infill. This represented a significant cost saving and removed over 70,000 lorry movements from local roads compared to importing aggregate.
