Phased development on the existing operational Haymill Centre campus.
Works involved 5,382sqft single-storey extension to Millside Special School building, along with construction of a new 19,698sqft two-storey Pupil Referral Unit to replace the former springboard and virtual school buildings.
The new PRU building provides a new state of the art sports hall and modern learning environment. Facilities include sports hall changing and toilet facilities, reception area, ‘virtual learning’ special needs classroom, general teaching classrooms, practical classrooms, dining hall, offices and storage.
Community EngagementConsiderate Constructor’s Scheme
The site undertook various activities, led by our CCS Ambassador, to impact positively on the area and the surrounding community. Activities included various good-will garden improvements to the local Hospital, the facilitation of a career talk for local students, the organisation of a community time capsule burial event. As well as, a monetary donation to the local Woman’s Aid, and a litter pick team to help the local council with the cleaning up of some local parks.
