Fife College, Levenmouth Campus

Design & build 32,292sqft two-storey college facility for a projected roll of three hundred and fifty students with associated services, infrastructure, and hard and soft landscaping.

The building is clad in a mixture of facing brick, rain screen cladding, and insulated render.

It was also constructed via a structural steel frame sitting on concrete pad foundations.

Internal fit-out of the college comprised of metal stud plasterboard faced partitions, a mixture of plasterboard and laying grid ceilings, and both carpet and vinyl floor finishes.

The Levenmouth campus development includes an engineering workshop, hairdressing salon, training kitchen, general teaching facilities, mathematics laboratory, staff accommodation and café area.

The campus has been designed to support young people in getting real-life work skills to help develop the skills they need to succeed in job applications.

The construction of the Fife College Levenmouth Campus presented numerous opportunities for the delivery of educational experience including career days for the college students, practical interview experience, and practical work experience. Additionally, a college student’s artwork was displayed on the site hoarding, and the production of a short film was created by the students on the choosing of subjects. A specially designed time capsule, made by high school pupils studying at Fife College, was also buried to mark the start of building work. The time capsule was filled with things that relate to life today donated by the students.
