Commercial Way Public Realm Works, Woking

Public realm scheme was the remaining phase of a wider redevelopment scheme we undertook in Woking town centre, comprising a number of retail / commercial unit refurbishments and public realm works.

Works involved the redevelopment of Commercial Way, including replacement of the existing pedestrian zone with better quality materials and landscaping.

Reviving vital commercial street by creating an attractive, tree-lined, and clutter-free pedestrian boulevard with space for specialist markets and events.

Works were undertaken within a live shopping environment in Woking town centre.

The site was located within a pedestrianised area with all surrounding commercial and retail buildings remaining in occupation throughout the period of our works. Customers’ safe access and egress to trading retail units was critical, and so we sequenced paving works in sections providing progressive, temporary and segregated access to retail units.
