Refurbishment and upgrade of the 177m by 40m site to accommodate deeper vessels, primarily by deepening its berth to 7.5m, and strengthening the quay wall so it could take larger working loads, both in terms of plant and cargo.
We developed an alternative design during tender stage which was accepted and ultimately saved the Client in the region of 15% of the total projected contract value. It also reduced the amount of cut and cover required, obviated the need for handling, storage and noisy impact driving of steel piles, and resulted in a reduced project programme.
