Design & build two-storey primary school with integrated nursery and early year’s accommodation.

Inspired by the new curriculum for excellence, which emphasises external learning and classroom provision, the school will offer flexible teaching spaces that can be configured for intimate one to one tuition or lager clustered environments.

The new facility includes fourteen classrooms, a nursery, communal areas, and games and dining halls. External works include new parking provisions, access roads and landscaping.

The existing school remained in use while the new school was constructed. Upon completion of the new build, the existing primary school was demolished and cleared from site.

As this was a live site, the protection of pupils and staff was of utmost importance and we fully segregated the new-build construction works. Teaching continuity was critical, and a number of disruption management measures were implemented, as well as on-going communication and consultation with the School Principal to ensure their specific requirements were incorporated into our programme, including exam times.

Community EngagementConsiderate Constructor’s Scheme

The site undertook various activities, led by our CCS Ambassador, to impact positively on the area and the surrounding community. Activities included facilitating a sod cutting event with the school, donation of timber off-cuts to the woodworking department at the local college, delivery of work experience opportunities. As well as, the provision of local employment opportunities, including a cleaner, gate person, and a labourer, site tours for local scouts group and school pupils, and liaison Meetings with local residents association.
