Scape Social Value for 2021

21.06.22

Creating meaningful social value in the local communities we work in.

In 2021 across McLaughlin & Harvey’s 11 Scape projects, we:

  • Supported 30 community projects
  • Delivered 382 volunteering hours
  • Interacted with 6,546 school students at 90 educational engagement events
  • Facilitated 4,115 hours of work experience placements
  • Started 94 local apprentices

As a trusted Scape framework partner, we have a dedicated Social Value Coordinator at each project. They work with the site teams on a programme of activity that improves the environment, economy and social wellbeing of the communities we work in.

The annual report summarises key facts and figures and case study examples of the activity that has taken place in the last year at each project.

Chris Boyle, Framework Director said, “McLaughlin & Harvey is a proud Scape framework partner and we are delighted to be helping our seven clients to support their local communities. To date, our work has provided a legacy in these local authority areas and helped deliver jobs and work experience for local young people.”

Shauna Young, Group Social Value Manager, added, “At McLaughlin & Harvey, our purpose is to create value and improve lives through innovative design and construction. Our SCAPE Social Value report highlights the excellent return on social investment we have generated through the SCAPE procurement framework. We will continue to create a healthy, sustainable culture and generate social value by embedding responsible practices across the business to improve environmental, economic and social wellbeing.”
