Milngavie in Bloom has some extra volunteers

09.06.21

Our Boclair Academy site team joined the Milngavie in Bloom community group on their Clean Sweep litter pick last week.

Established in 2008, the local group is committed to reviving the town centre area through regular litter picks and has responsibility for planting and maintaining community beds.

The site team, together with employees of our subcontractors Careys and Spie, joined the regular volunteers to pick up litter from the local area and keep the town looking its best.

We have been on-site at Boclair Academy since January this year. Works include the construction of a new sports and leisure facility, as well as a bespoke adult resource centre.

The new two-storey building will deliver a state-of- the-art learning environment for 1,050 pupils which will feature a large entrance atrium, flexible learning zones, performance spaces and dining areas. There will also be improved outdoor sport facilities alongside a fully integrated landscape design which will include car and cycle parking bays. The existing school will remain operational during construction and be demolished on completion of the works.

This project is being delivered as part of Scape Group National Construction Major Works - UK framework. Scape is a public-sector organisation, dedicated to creating ongoing efficiency and social value via the built environment.
