Our Frameworks division is thrilled to have won the Health Project category at the Schüco Excellence Awards for Design and Innovation 2018.
The award recognised the division’s excellence in the design and installation of Schüco systems on the Omagh Hospital & Primary Care Complex project.
The building required glazing and curtain-walling systems to meet the demands of the hospital’s design and technical requirements. Large openings were included to maximise views and enhance light as part of the therapeutic design. Design considerations also included the potential for integrated shading and privacy, thermal performance to assist the scheme in achieving a BREEAM rating, discrete venting, ballistic-rated glass, and infection control in some clinical areas. Integral powered blind systems were also employed. Collaboration between TODD Architects and Frameworks led to bespoke solutions.
John Monteverde, Head of Frameworks and Specialist Joinery, commented: “We are thrilled to have been presented with such a prestigious national award for an innovation project like Omagh Hospital & Primary Care Complex.”
