McLaughlin & Harvey has won a contract from The University of Edinburgh to deliver its flagship Data Technology Institute.
The new 100,000sqft building will be home to a broad group of occupants from across the University, including its start-up and spin-out companies, and industrial collaborators.
McL&H will deliver an open plan six storey office in the centre of Edinburgh with an atrium, basement, and rooftop plantroom.
Included in the scope of the work is connecting the new building to the existing one. This includes the removal, adjustment and reinstatement of external cladding and minor alterations within the existing building.
Following the completion of the Informatics Forum and Dugald Stewart Building, the Data Technology Institute will be the third and final phase of the University’s Potterrow development, and will complete the urban block and courtyard of the original scheme.
Site establishment work will start next month, with completion of the building expected in late 2017.
