The Western Trust has launched its 2015 Staff Recognition Awards, which this year is sponsored by McLaughlin & Harvey.
The awards were launched this month by the Trust Chief Executive Elaine Way, last year’s winner of the Chairman’s award Anne Friel, and McLaughlin & Harvey’s SHEQ Officer Jemma Lowry.
Now in its seventh year, the staff awards aim to thank staff for their hard work, their innovation and for the outstanding care they provide for patients. Each year the awards have grown in strength and stature; with over 160 overall nominations received in 2014.
Teams and individual members of staff will be presented with awards after being nominated by colleagues. Shortlisted candidates for each category will attend the event, with winners announced at the ceremony in November.
Speaking at the launch of the awards, Chief Executive, Elaine Way said: “I am delighted to welcome McLaughlin & Harvey as our new sponsors to this very worthwhile staff initiative. We are fortunate to have attracted this sponsorship and their involvement is very much appreciated. The nomination process has now opened and I would encourage you all to consider a colleague, team or project that you believe is worthy of an award. Following the nomination and shortlisting process we will host an event to celebrate the excellent staff we are privileged to have in our Trust.”
Jemma Lowry, SHEQ Officer at McLaughlin & Harvey added: “Working with members of the Western Trust on both Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex and Altnagelvin Radiotherapy Unit, McLaughlin & Harvey is delighted to support the Trust’s Staff Awards. We hope this sponsorship will help in launching and planning the event, and look forward to the celebration and reward of staff efforts.”
