McLaughlin & Harvey commenced on-site in Woking during March 2013, to deliver this public realm project as part of a wider Commercial Way phased redevelopment programme.
Our works involve shop façade and canopy improvements, new street furniture installation, infrastructure upgrades and extensive landscaping to include new granite paving, kerb realignment and planting.
To date, works are on programme and we have worked well with the surrounding businesses and shoppers to manage potential disruption carefully. The existing canopy has been stripped back to the structural steel supports and we anticipate the new Mercia Walk canopy and associated alterations to be complete over the next couple of weeks. We are currently finalising the installation of the soffit and fascia panels as well as second fix electrical installations.
Over the next period, we will continue with the paving and landscaping and will begin renewing the shop front pilasters.
This scheme is on-target for an October 2013 practical completion date and we will continue to work hard with all key stakeholders to achieve this.
We are delighted to be a part of this project in Woking, particularly as we continue to expand upon our portfolio in the South East / London areas.
