McLaughlin & Harvey recently attended the 2013 Derry-Londonderry premier Business Awards on 13th June 2013 where we were delighted to see our Foyle Marina project pick up the Best Tourism Initiative award.
This award is specifically aimed at recognising and celebrating an initiative which directly increases visitor numbers to the city and improves the way the city cares for its visitors.
The Design & Build scheme was completed for Foyle Port and Loughs Agency in June 2012, in time for the city to host the 2012 Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, and has made a truly positive impact on the area. The project involved the design and installation of a new 150m long 4m wide heavy duty floating concrete mooring facility for berthing vessels and associated amenity block, at McFarland Quay on the River Foyle in Derry. We also completely refurbished the 180m Meadowbank Quay to provide facilities for a cruise ship berth.
This Business Awards ceremony is jointly organised by the Londonderry Chamber of Commerce and City Centre Initiative, in association with their principal sponsor The Bank of Ireland, and is an excellent opportunity to celebrate the achievements of local projects and businesses.
McLaughlin & Harvey would like to congratulate all other finalists and winners at this awards ceremony, which proved to be excellent showcase of the efforts of local businesses.
