St Columba’s High School, Gourock, successfully completed

11 December 2013

McLaughlin & Harvey were delighted to successfully hand over St Columba’s High School to Inverclyde Council after a 72 week refurbishment and partial new build to enhance the school’s facilities.

The new £11.6 million Scottish school, which has nearly 800 students currently in attendance, required the complete refurbishment of the former Gourock High School, as well as partial demolition, and a new build extension.

The project, which was managed by Contracts Manager Phonsie Taggart and Site Manager Gareth Dale, included the addition of a new floor to the main building, construction of a new wing, and an upgrade of the available facilities which included a refurbished gym and sports hall, a new fitness suite, and a multi-use games area and all-weather sports pitch.

We thoroughly enjoyed working in Gourock with Inverclyde Council, and are pleased we have helped to create a much improved learning facility for pupils in that area.
