McLaughlin & Harvey offers staff the opportunity to complete a nationally recognised Institute of Leadership & Management course in order to develop future industry leaders.

Members of staff who participate in the ILM framework, led by On Track Training & Coaching, graduate with a nationally recognised qualification on completion. Three courses are available; Level 2, Level 3 and Level 5. Each course is aimed at a different group from Foremen to Operational Directors. The courses are not restricted to site based staff, with all employees able to enrole.

John Armstrong, On Track Training & Coaching, explained how the course has benefited individuals, “People benefit enormously from the course, through developing their confidence and skills which they may not have known they had. The course focuses on encouraging people to be better managers and leaders, and there are so many different ways to do that. Not only does the course help people in the work place; many also can apply the learning in their home life. The benefits to the individual certainly go beyond the workplace.”

McLaughlin & Harvey ILM Champion, Alison Meardon, described the advantages of the ILM course to the company, “The ILM courses benefit the company through increased communication between delegates on the courses. By progressing through the course as a group, they will have discussions on various topics or issues, and how they can tackle a situation differently in order to improve the outcome. This then carries on throughout the workplace, not just within the training room.”

Staff who recently completed the course were invited to an award ceremony and lunch in order to celebrate their success.
