McLaughlin & Harvey is delighted to reaffirm its commitment to developing its people by joining The 5% Club; an industry led initiative focussed on driving momentum into the recruitment of apprentices, graduates and sponsored students.
The 5% Club is a movement of more than 300 employers providing ‘earn and learn’ opportunities to develop the skills and talents people need to become more employable and create meaningful careers. Companies in The 5% Club commit to raising the number of apprentices, sponsored students and graduates on formal programmes to 5% of their total workforce within 5 years.
As part of the 5% club we offer earning and learning through our trainee scheme, undergraduate placements, and graduate scheme. We currently have 53 employees earning and learning; which is actually 7% of our employees, putting us 2% over the 5% target.
Lauri Barker, HR Advisor at McLaughlin & Harvey, commented: “This has always been part of the McLaughlin & Harvey ethos; by employing people as they are learning, we are able to support them in their development. Having this acknowledged by being a member of The 5% Club cements our existing commitment to investing in the future leaders of our business.”
Lady Cobham, Director General of The 5% Club said, “We’re delighted to welcome McLaughlin & Harvey into membership. The 5% Club provides a fantastic network of HR professionals, sharing and learning from each other. All our members share an ethos of creating a skilled workforce through ‘earn and learn’ development programmes, helping people develop meaningful career paths.”
