McLaughlin & Harvey Civil Engineering were proud to pick up the Construction Employers Federation (CEF) ‘Infrastructure Transport Award’ at the Construction Excellence Awards 2013, during a Gala Evening at the Culloden Hotel, Belfast on Thursday 26 September.
This award was presented to our team for the construction of Ballymoney Railway Station Footbridge for Translink, which we completed in November 2012. The project involved the construction of a landmark steel-arch footbridge over the railway at Ballymoney Station, along with an upgraded park and ride facility and landscaping. The new bridge enabled the closure of the existing level crossing, in turn enhancing public safety. In addition, it provided a new link between Riverside Park and Ballymoney Town Centre.
The project won the CEF Infrastructure Transport Award after being shortlisted as a finalist alongside some stiff competition. The award was judged on a number of criteria ranging from project management, engineering solutions utilised during construction, standard of finish, health & safety, sustainability, public impact and Client satisfaction.
We would like to take this opportunity to say congratulations to all other shortlisted finalists and award winners.
